Privacy policy
exascale.build is a data API for AI agents and the developers behind them. This policy explains what the API and this website collect, why, and how it's handled. It is written to be short and accurate.
What we collect
- Request metadata. For each API call we log the shape of the request — the tool/endpoint called, the query parameters (filters, grouping), the outcome (success or error), row counts, and timing. This is operational telemetry that lets us improve the product. We do not log the underlying data values returned (that data is public).
- IP address. Recorded transiently to enforce fair-use rate limits and prevent abuse.
- Standard server logs kept by our infrastructure providers.
- No account required. The API is currently open and keyless, so we do not collect names, emails, or payment details to use it. If you contact us, we keep what you send.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not require or collect personal information to query the API.
- The data the API returns is public U.S. government data (e.g. the EIA); we add normalization and citations, not personal data.
How we use it
To operate, secure, and improve the service — for example, learning which queries agents make so we can make the tools clearer and decide what to build next. Aggregate, non-identifying usage may inform product decisions.
Retention
Request metadata and logs are retained for a limited period for product improvement and security, then deleted or aggregated. We keep raw source archives (public data) indefinitely for verifiability.
Processors
We use reputable infrastructure providers to run the service — Cloudflare (this website + network) and Hetzner (the API server). They process traffic on our behalf under their own terms.
Cookies
This marketing site uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The API uses no cookies.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the product evolves (for example, when accounts and API keys are introduced); material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. Questions: team@exascale.build.
